It has been a long-standing objective for The Wallich, a homeless charity with projects around Wales, to develop methods to provide secure, unrestricted income. These unrestricted funds allow The Wallich to finance their work that deals with clients whose needs are perceived to fall outside of statutory obligation and therefore do not attract statutory funding.

As a means of achieving this aim, The Wallich incorporated a wholly owned trading arm - Ikon Group Ltd. Ikon Group is a private limited company, which has its own board of directors and acts as a holding company for the charity's trading activities.

At present Ikon Group consists of a creative design and print company (Ikon Creative), a training company (Ikon Learning), a lettings agency (Ikon Lettings), as well as companies dealing with property maintenance, payroll and accounts. In addition it partly owns an IT service company (SFX Technology).

These trading subsidiaries will contribute all, or a proportion of their profits to The Wallich to ensure the charities’ continued success in supporting vulnerable people.
